Forestry Mulching

Most recently, we made the investment to purchase a forestry mulching attachment for our Komatsu PC138 excavator, which is a mid-size machine, weighing about 34,000lbs. This setup is fantastic for mulching areas such as detention basins, off road steep slopes, riverbanks, pond edges, over guardrails and guide wires, and anything else that may not be easy for a skid steer mounted mulcher or brush hog. The reach that this machine has is the key to its purpose. The attachment is rated for mulching up to 6” diameter trees, and it completely flies through saplings, tall grass, and normal brush. The excavator is also on “street pads”, which are rubber pads instead of your typical steel track, making street and driveway traversing easy and non-damaging. This machine and attachment are great for “catching up” on any areas that may have been neglected or are too challenging for common machines.
